Revival of Paradise

The 25-meter steel Van der Valk yacht “Paradise” was laid up at a drydock in Cyprus and was lying there locked-down for two years. A new overseas buyer was about to take ownership of the yacht. Nautimar Marine was called to assist in assessing the condition of the yacht, report on the technical side and the needs that the yacht had to be recommissioned.

The professional approach to the whole process allowed Nautimar to become owner’s rep and subsequently, coordinate not only the technical aspects of the recommissioning process but also the legal side as the yacht had to be re-registered, change ownership under a tax-free status while at drydock and obtain insurance after having a thorough survey. Subsequently, the yacht was successfully relaunched, complete sea trials and handed to the new owners.
