The resurrection of Serenity C
Nautimar was asked to assist a client who intended to take over a yacht which was in Thailand and idle in early stages of refit. The yacht was a Willem De Vries Lentsch 29-meter all-aluminum sloop and it was in bad shape. A high-quality Dutch yacht, “Serenity C” was a true blue-water cruiser in a neglected state.
Our brief was to assess the situation prior to purchase and report to the owner on the options which included anything from continuing the refit locally to transporting it to capable shipyards across the globe. Logistics and other parameters pointed in doing it locally. A team was set up with the help with the captain/engineer and jointly planned everything from A-Z. Regular visits on the yacht ensured that everything was progressing as planned. Yiannos’ degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering and years of experience in yachting was decisive in the positive outcome of this project.
From the beginning, we acted as owner’s reps on the project until it was successfully completed. Serenity C was subsequently sold, while on sea trials which in a way confirms that it was a successful project.
